Baby Blessing, Christening, Naming, non-Catholic Baptism, water blessing
Someone recently quoted, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet”.
It is a famous line from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet (Act II, Scene II), spoken by Juliet to argue that the essence of a person or object remains unchanged regardless of its name.

We put a great deal of thought and care into the names we give our children.
Some are named for their parents or grandparents, some for a desire to be unique, bold or inspiring.

Celebrating the naming of your child with a spiritual ceremony is a beautiful way to honour them and welcome them to this world.
This may include dedications to how they will be raised, identifying guardians or “God parents” who will ensure they are cared for and supported as they grow.

I was ‘Christened’ in a Community Church with my God Parents being my Uncle on my Mom’s side and my Aunt on my Dad’s side.
Weird to think of sides as I always just think of them as family. Loved and respected forevermore.
I am excited to be able to offer this special spiritual service to bless your child and set them on their earthly path.

Each service is customised based on your spirituality and includes a planning meeting, rehearsal and ceremony.

Services start at $300 + hst in the Municipality of Durham and are subject to availability.

A. A. Milne said it well, “If I am thinking correctly said Pooh, ‘a new baby is probably undoubtedly the grandest gift that could ever be’.”
